The Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island, is located on Zanzibar Island’s western coast, right outside of Stone Town. It takes around 25 minutes by local boat from the Stone Town beach.
The popular Giant Tortoises, which may live up to 200 years, are the island’s major attraction. This trip will allow you to explore and learn about the history of these magnificent creatures, as well as Prison Island itself.
