When planning a Tanzanian private safari, there are several factors to consider. When planning your safari, some of the options and terminology may be new and perhaps confusing.

First and foremost, you can choose between a group safari and a private safari. In Tanzania, private safaris are quite popular. However, there are two types of private safaris: road safaris and fly-in safaris.

During a private road safari, your group will be privately led by one guide for the duration of your vacation. Your party could be with only you, a couple, a family, or a group of friends. Your group will travel from destination to destination on a private fly-in safari.

Guided game drives are then conducted by the lodges, and you will probably share game drives with other guests staying at the lodge.
